I've got a block with a 1 piece rear main on it... its a complete rotating assembly that needs rebuilding, the only problem it had was burning oil... and its never been rebuilt before. What I want to know is.... can I make this a 383 as cheap as a 2 piece block, or would it be more to my benefit to dig up an older block?

check SCAT or a few other for pricing on the 1 piece seal stroker cranks
    Powerhouse has them cheap.
    'as cheap' I doubt it

Up to you if the added cost of the crank is worth it.

Does the block already have the roller cam/lifters, or would you have to dig some up to add them? Thats a big benefit for a lot of people, plus less likelihood of rear main leaks, along with centerbolt valve covers, and so on.
