Went to replace the wheel bearings, how in the heck do you get the bearing "adjusting nut" off? I have the socket for the lock nut, but I can't see how to get the next one out. Tnanks /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I usually try a nice screw driver or chisel and drive it around. Shouldn't take more than a little bit and then it should easily go around. I haven't torn a 44/10 down in a bit but I seem to remember it being pretty much the same as the 60.

one you get the first nut off, there is a lock plate that keeps the first one fron furning. grab a curved pick and get behind it and pull it out. then use the nut socket and remove the second nut.

Does the washer have a bunch of small holes around its circumfrence? If so, I just need to use a punch to knock it around to get it loose? Under that is the adjusting nut? and I use the same socket as the lock nut? Sorry for all the questions, just dont want to have to tear into it again and still not know what to do. Thanks./forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

DO NOT use a punch to knock it around. there is a notch in the spindle that the washer slides on. pull it straight out.

I have small fingers so I just reach in and pull it out.
