12.5\" wide tire on 8\" rim (Iknow it\'s been asked before and I searched)

Looking to put 35x12.5x15 MTR on a 8" wide factory rally wheel. The specified rim size is 8.5"-11". Would I need to run a lower tire pressure to get the tread to flatten out?

I know it's been discussed but my searches came up empty.

    Thanks

i wouldn't sweat it. i've got my 38.5x14.5x15" swampers on stock rallye wheels, so a 12.5 should be a breeze.

I run 42x15.5x15s on an 8" wheel, they flatten out nicely at around 5-7 psi... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif And I have yet to blow a bead.

I ran my 35" BFG M/Ts for years on 8" wheels. I now run 16" wide 38.5" super swampers on 10" wide wheels.

This would be on a daily driver so I would need all the miles I can get out of the tires. So I need to keep the bad tire wear down to a minimum.

once you get them on run them through a mud puddle and check the tread pattern on the street and adjust the tire pressure till they leave a even tread pattern on the street /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Not a problem, I run the exact same setup on my rig, on an 8" rim and don't have any problems with the setup. I run about 15 to 20 psi on the trails and have yet to roll a bead.
