Anyone know what size conversion ujoint I need to go from a '79 12 bolt rear axle to a '83/84 14 SF? Found out it isnt the same as the 14FF I am taking out at the last minute!

I wish mine was, I already have that conversion U-joint installed already. The caps are a smaller diameter on the SF axle but the same width across as the FF I just took out. The ring gear is stamped with Jan '83 build date on my axle and is also a Possi (possibly Gov Loc) if that makes a difference?

Mine is an '82 model gov loc 4.10 geared 14 SF and has always been 1350.

If yours is the same width as 1350 with smaller caps, it's 1330.

Take a U-joint from the 14sf and the 12bolt and go to NAPA. Find a combo U-joint with one end that matches the 12bolt and one that matches the 14sf.
