Based upon previous posts here, swapping a 12b for a 10b is porbably not worth the time. I have a friend that runs a drive line shop and he came up with a 12b that he just rebuilt with a Auburn posi in it with new 3.73 gears. Sine my Jimmy has open diffs I have been looking for a posi for it. He is asking $250 for it. The gears and posi have less than 500 mi on them and were professionally installed. Does this sound like a resonable deal ?

I had a 12 Bolt with a stock limited slip and loved it till I Blew it. I bought a 12 Bolt with a posi and still love it. You'll be able to go places you couldn't before and you'll leave your friends with open diffs behind. Don't get me wrong though, someday I hope to get a real locker.

I too had a 12 bolt with a Pro Auburn Posi and it was a real tight posi I liked it allot until.........BANG!!!! TWISTED the 12bolt housing and grenaded the Auburn [IMG] had to junk the whole setup[IMG]. But now I have a DANA 60 rear with the DanaPower-Lok and that too is very tight!
I would jump on it that is a good deal I know the Pro Auburn unit is near 400 bucks new!

FYI, if the Auburn is wore out, throw it out. It is not rebuilable.
    Good luck

I have a 12B w/Auburn Pro....the Pro unit alone is $400 (the other is $300)...new gears are about $125....install kit is about $75.plus labor...I'd jump on it....the Auburn is not rebuildable, but should last for years if not abused on pavement....I run 14oz of Positrac fluid with synthetic gear oil for the street/light duty stuff....when I know I'm gonna run it rough, I change the fluid and add only 7oz additive...I also have Moser 1340H alloy axles (about $225) which help somewhat in the beef department....sounds like a deal to me, but that's just an opinion...JD

I'm at 10th and Plum....10 miles from nowhere, and Plum out in the sticks....Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..
