Did blazers ever have a 12 bolt rear standard, or is this srictly a mod?

83 k5 originally diesel, now 350, 700-R4 12 bolt rear, 33x12.50 BFG Trails (yuck), desperately seeking a lift
sometimes nothing is a real cool hand

Yup, they are standard on some of 'em, take mine for example. O, not to mention the 12 bolt front, very popular also [IMG]

Why don't you ever show any pics of this axle? Do you have a pic of it in the "Member Rides"? Has it been proven that he actually owns a Blazer? May be one fo them BlazerBabe people!!!

Nick...pic's have been posted, confirming exectutioner has a Blazer with a Dana 44.

BTW my 81 came with a 12 bolt rear and 10 bolt front stock. It was a factory 4 speed truck though. My 12 bolt blew trying to take it for a test drive...I got 5 feet and it puked parts right through the cover.[IMG]

I can't make out the front axle on that thing. Pictures are fuzzy. Maybe he would like to post some new pics of this 12 bolt?

I think 82 was the year they changed to 10B rears with 28 splines....went to 30 spline 10B rear in 87(?).....77 was the last year for D44 front, although a few survived as surplus in 78.....all 79's came with Corporate 10B fronts.....to the best of my knowledge, positrac (gov-loc or otherwise) was never offered as a factory option for the front in any model year.....not sure what year they changed from Gov-loc to Eaton, but it's been pretty recent (even though Eaton built the Gov-lock for GM)........most 12B grenade because of the Gov-lock carrier, or because of worn pinion shaft bearings.....of course high mileage and abuse are a factor also......I've owned 12B in a variety of vehicles in the past 25 yrs or so.....except for grenading a gov lock, I've never had a problem with 'em.....

Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..
