12\" lift and 44\" tires for my K-30

I have ordered 44"tsls for my K-30 and I think I need a 12"lift Is there someone who can help me with that. The truck is from 87 with 6,2 diesel 400 205 d60 14bff 160" wheelbase. The only things I already have are the truck and the hummer wheels. It´s a start and I´m not in a hurry.

Nobody NEEDS 12" of lift. You may want it, or may not want to cut your fenders, but I would find it hard to argue that you need 12" of lift.

12" Lift springs are stiff for one, and your COG is WAY up there.

Think I'm kidding you? I'm not, I run 42" Tires on little over 5" of lift off stock.

    Heres a picture:

That shows cut rear fenders that in my opinion look GOOD. The front fenders are uncut in the picture.

I'm also running my 203 and 205 clocked up for a completely flat belly (it has the clearance of running another 2-3" more lift).

Even if its brand new sheetmetal, I'lll never hesitate to hack 'er back...just do some reasearch and find what you think looks decent.

if you somehow have a 160" wheelbase you would want 20" of lift. but im sure thats a typo so I would suggest an 8" lift and a little bit of trimming or go 6" and use fiberglass front fenders with no trimming plus they look better.

I´m not sure how much lift I need but I´m sure the wheelbase is 160" and I´m not against fender trimming. It does not have a pickup bed so the rear is not a problem. You can see pic´s of it in my gallery.

I tried to find a picture of the rig you are talking about putting 44s on in your site and couldnt find it. although the pictures in the site were very cool.
I didnt think there were that many jeeps and chevs that far away from america.

thats a huge biotch I have a very similar truck minus the crew cab but I didnt think it made it 40" longer than mine.
I guess when you did the sas you extended the front axle forward to clear the cab. that is a cool looking truck /forums/images/graemlins/crewcab.gif

There is the same discussion in another thread here in the garage just with a suburban. Like a few of us were saying... You will need a 12" AND THEN SOME to clear 44's right. You said you don't mind cutting the fenders so 10" to 12" is about right with a mild hack job. anything lower than a 10" lift and you will have to hack the hell out of everything with the sawzaw. You say you have a jimmy for wheeling, why would you wan't to cut this truck up? It will take around at least 14" of lift to clear without cutting.
You have heard a few opinions about how great 6" of lift and almost no fenders looks and that is good for your center of gravity but to me it isn't very attractive. I would go big and do it right. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 12\" lift and 44\" tires for my K-30

I have 12" of lift and 44's and still did some trimming. Basically I am using the 12" lift now to get things set up the way I want them then she will start coming down. My goal is 6" lift and the 44's but maybe I'll never get there who knows. Like the other guys said, 12" of lift alone will not clear 44's so get that sawzall out.

OK now I think you understand me.Back to the real Q: /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gifwhere to buy the stuff I need? Hopefully from one place, it would be easier to ship the things to twilightzone/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gifwhere I live.
