The question is do I need bigger u-joints for the 14 bolt? do I need to shorten my drive shaft? what else do I have to do to make the 14 bolt fit, cut and weld something? if I need bigger u-joints does anybody have the part # they've used? sorry for all the questions.

used the u-joint mentioned on my 91 350/700R4 Suburban when i put a 14FF in. It did take different axle/spring U-Bolts however.
Also gained from 3:42-15" to 4:10-16" on my swap but it send speedo +20%. Kit from GM to fix it for about $30 (haven't done it yet cause you need to pull speedo/gauges and haven't had any other cause to open her up!).

I just did this 2days ago on my K5 the only parts I had to buy was the u-joint and brake fluid. I would buy a 447 and a 348, then take back the one you dont need. The 447 was twice the price of the 348. The 447 on the 1ton side is about a 16th of an inch smaller on the cap then the 348. And the 447 is longer on the 1/2ton side then the 348. I'm running 74'k5 driveshaft w/boyce 14bolt.
