14 bolt FF from an \'80 chevy van

Does anyone know if a 14 bolt FF from a '80 van will fit my '79 k5? I found one for a killer price and I was wondering if anyone had made the swap before?

Just measure up the spring perches... Either way if it doesn't bolt right on it isn't hard to make it fit, I remember hearing something about van axles being wider also, might want ot check into that also even though it won't make a difference in making it work. Keep us posted.

I think the van rears are wider then the truck rears by a few inches.

The van rears are the same width (or real close to it) as the front axles (69") as oposed to truck rears which are all 67". All you need to do is torch off the old spring pads and shock mounts and weld your own on.

If they are wider this could be a cure for the rear being narower than the front. Something I'll have to look into because I didn't know they were wider.
