Thanks to Mike ( blazen91) I have a 14 bolt installed in my ride. I am stoked. Still alot to do but this is a killer addition to bigblue. I have a question. Now it feels like some vibration coming from the rear drive shaft. I have already lowered my tcase. I have 4 inch shims and a CV conversion, but still some vibs. what gives. There was a little vibe with the 10 bolt but now it is much worse.... Is the pinion angle lower in a 14 then a 10 bolt ? Hopfully I will be ready for the coyotes trip. I will have some pics of it soon....thanks again Mike...later

have you ever broke a u joint and had the shaft beat around???if so your shaft may be tweeked.have it checked.if its out of true/balance itll eat a number of things, starting w/ the slipyoke.i dropped a shaft myself and didnt think to get it checked and the slight vibe i had took out the slipyoke in a matter of months.

Oh yes, thanks Mike for everything. No "thanks Nicole" for running Mike's errands so that he could help me, no "Thanks Nicole" for getting lunch for you two, no "Thanks Nicole" for cooking me dinner, ect.. I see how it is, the guys get ALL the credit, while the chicks get...well, you know what we get.

    YOUR WELCOME JEREMY!!!! [IMG]

    Hey Jeromy,

I think you need to thank Nicole very quickly. If you don't Mike probably won't be able to play with you no more. [IMG] HaHaHa.

As far as the drive shaft goes, is your pinion angle correct? You want it pointing directly at the output yoke of the t-case. 1-2 deg. below is ok but any more and VIBES happen. The pinion angle in relation to the spring perches on the 14B could be different than the 10B was. Last time out you said you had a 1-ton shaft. Did you get it from High Angle Drivline? They are the only ones that I know of that make 1350 C/V shafts. If so, there is a adapter on the t-case that was balanced with the shaft bolted to it so you would need to make sure that they are bolted back together in the same position. I'm just throwing thoughts out there. I do know that with your amount of lift and a new C/V drive shaft you should be able to get a vibe free ride without even droping the t-case, that is as long as the pinion is lined up correctly.
Let me know what you come up with.

P.S. I should be getting my new 1350 C/V shaft this Friday from High Angle Driveline. I hopefully will be installing it this weekend and maybe even rebuilding my t-case. So if you get board and need someone to have a beer with and B.S. come on up to O'side.

    See Ya,
    Keith

Nicole - You are the BEST. I REALLY mean it. Mike you have an awesome family and an especially wonderfull wife. But she just didn't want to help bleed the brakes and that upsets me a little bit. hehe. And really, Nicole the chicken was DELICIOUS. take care.

Keith, MAbye the drivesshaft is unbalanced. I will give you a ring and maybe come up this weekend - Sat afternoon or Sunday and we can work on our K5's. I will call you later this week...

For my ride this is what is happening. When driving at about 25 it starts to FEEL like a tractor...then it smoothes out. But at really any speed - say 55 when I let off the gas it vibrates kinda like if I had a stick shift and slowing down using the gears or something...I don't know but mostly the sounds and vibes are when I let off the gas....later

Yep, you rear angle needs to be 1-2 degrees below Zero. Basically almost dead straight. If the rear axle did not ttwist up 2 degrees under accelerating loads you would want it at dead straight 0 degrees. That is the reason for the 2 degree drop. This will leave you with just a C hair chance for a small jiggle on coasting but highly unlikely with the CV DS. And with the CV shaft, and the rear angle corrected, you can raise the T-case back up to stock position, unless you have like a 12 inch lift or something. But first go get that DS balanced.
Then have your rear spring perches moved to give you the correct angle.
You may want to stop by and thank Ms. Nicole personally after all she did (from what I can read). Big boys and big toys need big food.

Will work for beer, parts and tools.
