    Ok-
I am looking at purchasing an axle for a project Blazer I just bought. The guys says that it is a 14 bolt with 3.73 gears out of a 1992 Chevy truck. He said that he pulled it off a 1983 and the guy that put it on moved the spring perches and shock mounts to make it work with the 1983. Now here is my question: He says that there is something different. He seems to think it doesnt track correctly? For some reason he thinks that it is either longer or shorter than normal for 1983 truck. Is the guy completely mixed up or does this make some sense to you guys. Also, its not a FF, b/c it does not have the bolt pattern for the pull out axle shafts. Is this a semi floater or what? Please let me know your insight on this subject. TIA!!

    Later,

    Yes that's a semi floater.

I am not sure on the width.

Yea, I spotted a couple of those when I was out shopping for a 14bolt FF too. Check in the technical section, but I think the ring gear is like 1" smaller than a FF. I'd steer clear unless it is dirt cheap (or free) and matches up perfectly.
