    were would my speedo meter hook up to? does it hook into the axel or does it register from some other source? i will be putting my 14 bolt in in about 2 3 months and was wonderin. thanx

    I take it you have a speedo cable. It connects to the tailend of the t-case.

    im not sure but i think i do. whats a tone ring used for then? is it for the newer trucks? cause thats what my dads truck reads off of.

    actually its a 96 dodge ram 2500. and yep i found the speedo cable and every thing.

    The tone ring is bolted onto the ring gear in newer trucks, fords and dodges anyway...I don't think chevy uses this setup, , and there is a speed sensor that picks up the signal. It is used for both speedometer, and also for rear wheel antilock brakes.
