14\" wide tire, 8\" wide rim??

Hey I've got an old 35x14x15 Gumbo Monster mudder here that i was going to use for a get by spare. I want to put it on a 7 or 8" junkyard $5 special rim. Can I do it? If I have to buy custom wheels, I guess I'll just buy the tire I really want, but if not I'll do this for about $10 instead.
    Thanks

I don't think anything over 12.50 on an 8" rim would be safe. I would recommend either the right tire or the right wheels or both.

yes, you can do it. I have seen Mickey T 14.5's mounted (4wheeled) on an 7 " wide wheel !
Just don't exspect perfect wear charicteristics.

good deal. it's just a spare. And intended to match up to 36" TSLs so a little height gain would be great. I'm going to go down to roadrunner and see if they'd trade me this and a little cash for a used 36x12.5x16 buckshot they have. If not, it's this one all the way.

damn that's cool...didn't know you were in sherman once, just checked your profile though. Did you wheel when you were here? Just wondering if I somehow might know you.

Actually roadrunner moved. Now they're in that place that used to be a bar right behind Wendy's. They have a nice set of 3-Q78-16 and 1-Q78-15 Buckshots that I'd love to have one of but that guy swears they're a set. Who the hell would want them as a set, I have no idea but I guess they cant tell the diff between rim sizes. Oh well I guess the 12.50 would work, just not optimum.
