14B FF Gov Lok carrier

Discussion in 'The Garage' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Oct 12, 2002.

I have 3.73 gears with a Gov Lok in my 14B FF. I want to put 4.10 gears in my 14B. Do I need to change my GovLok carrier from 3.73 to a GovLok 4.10 Carrier?
    Thank you for your help.

No, no change required. The split is between 4.10 and 4.56. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Got a pic of your gov-lock carrier?
I'd like to compare it to the pics of an open one that I have.

    No problem. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My '85 K30 has the Gov-Lock and also the 4.10 gears.

If you ever have problems with your Gov-Lock, such as the clutches wearing out, go to gmpartsdirect.com and type in the part numbers #15599651 and #462778. These are the GM brand new clutches to replace worn units in the 14FF Gov-Lock. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Price is about $60 for both kits together.
