I just bought a 14b ff rear axle with 3.73 ratio. Right now it is an open diff. Will I be able to put a posi or locker into it???, I read a post somewhere that some of the 14b have a different carrier and will not accept lockers without changing a bunch of parts. What's involved in installing a clutch type easton posi???

You are confused, if it is open now, and you want a locker, a detroit locker will slide in easy. And its also the cheapest detroit locker made because it goes into the open carrier instead of replacing it.
Now, an eaton posi replaces the carrier and involves setting up the gears and removing and replacing bearings and that stuff, this is why i mentioned the detroit. It is tougher and better working than an eaton.
