Does anybody still have their Detroit retainer bolt? I need to know what size/length and what washers it comes with. I have a used Detroit I am going to pull it out of one axle to put it in the other.

I just installed a Detroit about 3 weeks ago. I do still have the retaining bolt (at home), but I can't tell ya what size it is, cuz I'm at work right now. When I go home tonight, I can check the size for you then.

Mine came with a 1/4" X 5" NF bolt with a wing nut and 2 flat washers measuring 1.5" OD. You certainly dont need NF threads though /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I've never done one before and I wanted to know what I was getting into before tearing into my used detroit. I knew there was some type of retainer bolt but I didn't know what size. If I had just bought a new one it would have already came with the retainer bolt and I wouldn't have had to ask. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Make sure you mark the adjusters before you take them apart. I usually use a center punch.
