    Will a 14ff and a dana 44 from a 78 pick up bolt right up to my 90 jimmy?

    In '78 the front axle is more likely to be a 10-bolt. But yeah, they'll bolt right into your current ride. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

    GM was still using the Dana 44 in '78. I have a set of 3/4 ton axles out of a '79 and the front is a D44.

    It just depends on the ratio and such. They started using the 10-bolt up front around mid-77. Once a particular configuration of the Dana 44 was used up, the trucks got 10-bolts. It may have taken longer for them to use up the 44's in the 3/4-ton line, as not as many of them are sold.

    i just got my axles installed from a 78 3/4 ton. it has a d44 and 14bff<(duh) but they bolted right up...just a lil bit heavier /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
