    you should just be able to take off the caps, back off the adjusting nut/sleev things and lift it out. be sure to mark and count how many times you turn the adjusters.

    are the "adjusters" the things that have the hole in them? and if they are is there a "right" and "wrong" way to turn them?

    Just stick a thin screwdriver or something in there and turn it until it moves away from the carrier. Do both sides a couple turns and the carrier will be free.

    Hope like he;' you marked and counted the bearing load adjuster. The 14ff is supposed to be easy to set up gears in, but just got done with mine, wow, what a bi)*h. I used spray talc from my shooting supplies as gear marker, must have taken me six times to get it right, and still won't know 100% until drive it. Looks right according to sources and pictures, but it really is a science. I have a new respect for guys that can do this in 3 or four hours. Took me almost 9 hours on one 14ff, but worth the experience.
