    thats how much i weighed comming from yuma to cali....
    96 chevy one ton dually extended cab 4x4, 16 foot trailer(read as to small for what i was doing) with the blazer on the back, and everything i own on the back of the truck or trailer.
    my tare weight was 8160. the rest was EVERYTHING i own... so keep in mind since my blazer was on the trailer.. i dont own much.

    what engine were you pulling with? the 454 or the 6.5TD?

    had no problems at all really. 3 gear(4l80e) would pull at 55-60 no problem up hills.

    the dually will get a CTD some day and the 454 will go in my blazer.

    I think the one day I was towing my Blazer with my Avalanche it weighed in at over 14,000 pounds I don't recall exactly what the weight was. I had my beast on a trailer that weighed nearly 2000# I have the 8.1L in my Avalanche and the 4L80E tranny and 3.73 gears. and I think I was doing 70 at about 22-2400 rpms and had no problems.
