    15\" rims on a d60?

is anybody running 15" tires on a d60 front axel? how did you make them fit? I would love to stay with 15" but don't think they will clear when I install a d60.

your right. I don't understand the jeep thing!

I run 15x10 American Racing white spokes and 15x10 Tech mods on my front Dana 60. The wheels are standard backspacing. Stock up on grinder wheels. After making a pass with the grinder, I like to spray a very light coat of paint on the caliper, then test fit the rim again to see where it hits. It is much easier to use a rim w/ out the tire mounted.

How much do you think you ground off Pete?
    Thanks.

I had to "clearance" my 3/4 ton front in the same way.I called national tire today. they said the same thing as long as I am using a single piston caliper. what year front axel do you have? single piston calipers?

    Henry & Joe

See Stephen Watson's reply under same topic on the Off Road Design forum on this board. More or less clears it up!

    Just guessing, maybe 1/4".

It was a lot more than on a 3/4 ton. The axle is an '80 and has single piston calipers.

What is the backspacing on your wheels?? I just got an email from 4Wheel Parts while I was reading your reply and they have the 15 x 10 Chrome Rock Crawler rims available in the 8 lug pattern with either a 3" or 2.5" backspacing!! He said that grinding to clear the Dana 60 caliper would be minimal!!
Best part is they only cost $59.95 per wheel.

I think I just found my new wheels!!![IMG][IMG]

I don't remember off hand, will have to check when I get home. I know they are more than 3". I prefer to run standard offset rims as they are much easier on ball joints/king pins and steer easier as well. If you want cheap, I bought my white spoke American Racings at Discount Tire for $36 each about 4 years ago.
