15\'\' rims on a dana 60 front end?

ok fellas me and bigerik just bet a dollar....he says you can grind the calipers on a dana 60 to fit inside 15x10 rims and I say no way ..as I had to do extensive grinding on a dana 44 just to squeeze them on..... so we leave it up to the vast pool of knowledge available to us through this web site.....what say the bretheren?

I have not done it personally but have heard of MANY people doing it on this site. So I would have to say that it can be done. I'll look for the posts. One recently said you have to go with the right offset. From what I have heard I would have to side with bigerik on this one.

There have been many recent posts about this. Several members of the board are running 15" steel wheels on a D60 front with ground calipers. How much grinding varies based on the wheel and offset but it can be done...

Do a search in the Offroad Design forum. You will find lots of info on it there.

Pay up that doller because it can be done. Best to use a 3in backspace on the wheels. Get the grinder out.

    Yes it does work....

There are many, many people on the Pirate board and here that are running 15's on a D60. You have to use around a 3" backsapcing and do grinding on the calipers....

Can"t speak for 15x10 steel wheels but if there 15x10 aloy then I would say no. I have a D60 with 16x10 Weld forged and 4" back spaceing and I had to grind about 1/16 to 1/8 off to clear the adhecieve weights.

A guy in our club is running 15x10 steel rims with 4.25" backspacing on a front Dodge Dana 60. He had to do a good amount of grinding but he has had no problems with it, though I don't know for sure if the Dodge brake components are a big as the GM version......anybody know?

Yeah you can do it. I am running 15x10 steelies with 3 3/4" (I think) backspacing. Lots of grinding (almost scary how much) and they work great.
