    16.5X9 3/4 or 12\"?

I just bought my new tires but i haven't gotten the Wheels yet. My question is which rim should I use for the best overall fit. The tires are 36X14.50-16.5's and I don't know if i should use 93/4's or 12's. The truck has a 6" lift and I know wider is better, but I don't want to be otuside of the front fenders too much.

I just got a new set of tsl supper swampers they are 38x12.50x16.5 and on the side of the tire it says rim size 9 3/4 check on the side of your tires and see if it says anything i think with a 14.50 i would run a 12 inch rim or 10 inch thats just my 0.2 hope it helps Bruce.

Well, a 36"x14.5" tire will look like a bowling ball on a 12" rim. I have 39.5 and 42" Swampers on 12" rims, but the height difference makes up for it, so they do not look like bowling balls. I personally hate that look. But, to each his own. Look on the sidewall and see what Interco recommends, I bet its 9.75".

I run the 9.75s on a 36x12.50. I know a guy in town with the same amount of lift as I (6 in.) who runs the 12s on the same tire and they don't tuck NEARLY as well as my 9.75s.

I think the size Interco suggests is 9.75". Thats what I run with my 36x14.5x16.5 tires. It protects the wheel from trail damage and it won't hit the fenders as much as the 12" would.

One thing I forgot to mention, I have 39.5"x15" wide Swampers mounted on 12" wide wheels and the huge lugs hit the lower rear portion of my yet-uncut stock fenderwell opening (Shawn, I have TWO trucks for you to do!! Bring sawzall!!), and that is with 12" of lift!!!!!!!! So, consider that when you go with that wide of a rim, they're gonna hit no matter how high you're lifted, otherwise get the sawzall out!!!!

Oh, I meant they hit when turning and articulating slightly, like going up a steep driveway when turning!! YUCK!! Gotta get it fixed prior to wheelin it, otherwise I won't have any fenders left!! Shawn, when ya comin'???!?!

Hey Shawn, can't really fly you out here, what with 6 kids and 9 4x4s to feed...but if you're ever coming this-a-way (So Cal, Orange County), then we definitely gotta hook up!!

Crap, I was in Denver (Aurora) at a supplier last January, but didn't know bout you guys then. If I ever get back, I'll look ya up. Also, if you ever take the "family truckster"-Griswold Vacation trip to Walley World (Disneyland), I'm only about 10 miles from there.
