ok, i ordered a wheel from summit, a 15x10 steel wheel (US Wheel). and i put it on as best i could, and have some questions.

    1) Do i grind this part? http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/splagg/vwp?.dir=/truck&.src=ph&.dnm=P8100005.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/splagg/lst%3f%26.dir=/truck%26.src=ph%26.view=t

3)can i grind the top of the caliper too? http://photos.yahoo.com/splagg
any comments on how the situation looks? good/bad? tips or ideas to make it easier?

    thanks
    josh

<font color=blue>Yep you have to grind the backing plate but and inch or so on each side of the caliper (not all the way to where your pointint to). Take the caliper off and grind the plate first (use a bare rim). Once that clears put the caliper on and do it again.</font color=blue>

Since every case of grinding is different from truck to truck, the best way is to put the tire/wheel combo up to the rotor/caliper and see where it hits. Grind that part where you see it hit and keep doing this repeatedly until the tire/wheel combo does not hit anything anymore. This can be very time consuming, but its about the best way to do it.

Its basically, put on the tire/wheel, check for hits, pull tire/wheel back off, grind, put tire/wheel back on, check for hits, pull tire/wheel back off, grind, put tire/wheel back on, check for hits, pull tire/wheel back off, grind, etc. etc.

    Get the idea? [IMG]
