    16x10\'s fit on 8-lug 10-bolt??

As a "newbee" I have a question regarding wheel fitment. I'm planning to soon lift my '79, and of course, get new wheels and tires. It's a 3/4-ton with an 8-lug Corporate 10-bolt front axle. The rims on it are the stock 16.5". I like the idea of the locking bead on 15" and 16" rims, to keep the tire seated when aired down. My big question is whether or not a set of 16x10 steel wheels, with "standard" backspacing will fit?? Right now, with the stockers, the brakes and tie rod ends look pretty close... think there's enough clearance to go down to 16's?? Is anyone running this wheel size, and if so, any grinding to the brakes or the rod to clear?? Thanks much in advance.

I have 16x10 8 lug 589's on mine and they are fine. Mines a Dana 60, which is pretty close. If not, the 10 bolt is smaller.
    I also have a 5 16x10 8 lug 589's with 35" BFG K/O's for sale. Asking 950 for them. Around 7500 miles on them. Paid 1950 new.

4 wheeling is like sex, when its good, its really, really good, when its bad its still pretty good.

They should fit with no problem if you get the same backspacing. Just to be sure you might want to go a 1/2" less. BTW I have 15x10's with 4 1/8 backspacing on a Dana 60.

They'll fit fine no matter what you do. We put 15x14 wheels on a D44 8 lug front with minimal grinding. 16s would fit no problem.
