The numbers that I posted are the last in the series. I have been to the VIN decoders online and they all state the same thing, this truck is number 879702 that was built in St. Louis. The full VIN number is BKS149S879702. The way that I read it my Blazer is exactly as printed, number 879702. What I am trying to determine is why is it posted that there are only 4,935 made in 1969. To me this is confusing. Before I am told my Blazer is NOT a 1969, the plate with the model numbers and the DOT registration all state that it *is* a 1969.

    Thanks for your reply.

Are you sure that isnt...BK5149S879702? If so then it is a 69!! The first 3 are BK5 whick states what model of K5, B usually is the CST if im not wrong and the next 3 are what kind...149... which would be 1 being 1/2 ton 4 being p/u brand and 9 being the last digit of the year 1969. The next six are going to be model and # of unit built...yours I think is the 702 unit. But the S is what stands for St Louis. Not sure if I am 100% correct but thats the way I always have looked at them and I havent been wrong yet, and I deal with alot of 67-72 p/u but only have had 1 Blazer. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

You are probably correct. This sounds like an answer to me! Thanks

Are the window frames, the part that contacts the fiberglass top, cut away on all '69 models?

I'm no expert either but I just got one home today(69) and the vin is BK and it is not a CST. I was wandering myself what the B was for. Also, It does start with BKS.
