I have a chance to purchase a 4 door K30. Dana 60 upfront, full floater 14 bolt rear, 400 tranny, 205 case. Body is OK it has a 350 not sure of the condition although there is oil everywhere. It is running though. The guy is asking $2,500. The only reason I would buy this is for the axles and case. How much is this thing worth?

Depending if it is in running condition or not, if not, then about $1000, if it is, and is in GOOD running condition, then $2000 max, more like $1500 though, I'm good at bargaining. But that is alot if you're just going for the axles. If you can get it for $1000, then for just the axles, that would be worth it. Then you can part it out and sell the tranny and transfercase combo. Many people would buy that combo in a heart beat. But doubt the dude would go that low. Good luck.

Yeah, some good parts there. If you want to use the axles, try to add up how much $ you are going to have to put into them to get them in the condition you want. Look for leaky seals, and bad bearings. The TH400/NP205 is desirable and somewhat valuable. The 350 is worth a few bucks too.

No matter what Boss says, that thing would have already been gone out here in So Cal. $2500 is a steal for a 4 door K30. I don't care if the motor is junk, its worth it. Maybe back east where everything rusts, it wouldn't be worth that much...just depends what part of the country you're in.

I am in Tulsa OK, so rust is not a big issue and I am not really interested in the body anyway. I called a couple salvages today to get ideas on the cost of the Dana 60 and Corporate 14. None available locally so they had to search for them on their locator. Dana 60 $1,250 - $1,500. 1 ton 14 bolt(larger brakes than 3/4 ton is only difference) $800-900. 3/4 ton 14 bolt $575. These prices are a joke!
