well, afetr 2 years of owning a boat , i finally caught my first big Striped Bass.

i had to travel up the coast about an hour, but it was worth it!! (boat is only 18 foot center console)

Wow, I gotta hit the Jersey area! Nice catch! Are you going to mount them?

My brother-in-law and I and a buddy were fishing in the LI sound last saturday, didn't get squat...

Just read that... Where were you when you caught them? An hour up the coast for you (from Jersey) might be 20 minutes up for me...

BTW, is that pole on the ground the one that caught it??

Nice fish! And I see that fine Penn SS reel on the dock, no better choice for saltwater.

What about some pics of the boat?

my boat is out of pt pleasant, and i went an hour north. i was about a mile out form the twin lights in atlantic highlands, just south of the hook.

we were live lining bunker. we would use bunker snags (tri hooks) with light rods (12-15 lbs test). cast into the bunker, then immediatelt throw it onto a boat pole with around 30 lbs test, and let them swim. then BOOM!!!!
