I just bought a used hard top for my 1970 K5, but the guy didn't know from what year it came from. I know its for a 69-72 full top K5, but is it single or double wall?? I know that there is differant mounting involved with the two differant version of tops! How can I tell?? Will it bolt on to my 70 K5?? Where do I go from here??? The top came with no mounting hardware, so I have to find it myself. I want to be able to put the top ASAP, when I pick it up in a week!

Single wall tops bolt down from the top, which means that if your truck was originally so equipped, it will have the nuts tack welded under the bed rails. The double walls bolt up from the bottom, which means clearance holes in the bed rails. I think the holes are in the same place on both tops, but not certain. Worst case is you have to drill new holes, best case is it bolts right on. There are also two brackets that hold the back of the top down, hope you have them, or that they come with the top.

Upon inspection I found something really weird! On the driver side bed rails there is oval holes with nuts tack welded under the rails, but on the passenger rails there is round holes with no nuts underneath! What gives?? Also the holes don't seem to line up with each other from bed to bed rail! I'm confused............maybe I should just buy a SOFT TOP!! One more question...........how many bolts are used on each bed rail to mount the top??

Sounds like someone swapped a bedside on your truck, so now you have one of each. I have never seen the brackets for sale, they are pretty simple, and could be fabricated.
