    2\" body lift done

Finally did my 2" body lift today on my burb. First time ever doing a body lift. Did it myself and completely finished in 5 1/2 hrs. But was a PITA...had to completely drill 4 new holes cause chevy felt they weren't needed...LOL. Also found out that my steering gear box was only bolted to the frame hand tight and 1 of the bolts was only held in by about 3 or 4 threads, don't know how long it was like that. But once I saw that, I took it off and luckily didn't find any cracks. Next thing I'll be doing soon is getting the steering brace and weld in kit just because. But all in all it went very well for my first time doing it. I'll take some pics of it tomorrow when its light and post.

I'm getting ready to do mine soon. Did you have to lengthen your shifter rod (Tranny)?

I made a complete new shift rod instead of welding in that piece. I tried to put the stock rod back in, but the bolt clamp at the end of the rod was just barely lipping the rod. Now mind you this is on a burb, might be a little different on a K5.

    Re: 2\" body lift done

I'm planning on a 2" body lift in the near future. I've got a 6" suspension lift installed. I want to do the body 2 inches, trim the finders, put on some finder flairs, and 39.5 tires. I'm thinking 4:56 gears. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
