2 Leaf vs 3 leaf stock front springs,, whats the difference...

    whats the difference in stock front 2 leaf springs and 3 leaf??? is it the ride or the hight or both??? Im removing a 4" lift and wanted to know the difference...

    There's little difference in ride height. 2-leafs were the standard suspension, while checking the box for the heavy duty suspension option would get you the 3-leaf front springs. They have a bit higher spring rate.

    Harry got it right.... Although with the 3 leaf unit, you wont really notice much of a difference over the 2 leafers. I would go 3...

    Big blue, 14 leaves?!?! Hope you were talking about the rear springs here!!! [​IMG] Sure would ride like sh!t if the front springs were a 14 leaf pack!!! [​IMG]

    and still another tid bit of info..... with a 2 pack, you will probrably find a pair that have sagged or are noticeably negative arch. Have not seen a 3 pack sag, they tend to be pretty much flat, no arch either way.

    hey wes,

    I was wrong not 14, but 12 leafs on each front and back....The difference is that they are VERY THIN and make for a smooth and FLEXY ride! They are Nationals...Although I think they are not much smoother than any other spring but are great for heavy loads and flexy situations....
