203 4x2 conversion kit

    Is there a simple way to tell if a 4x2 kit has been installed in 203 without tearing it apart for a look?

    If the shift pattern differs from the standard NP203 pattern.

    Put the 203 in the 2wd position, have some drive the rig while you watch to see if the front shaft spins.

    I don't have the engine in the truck yet. I take it from this post that I should be able to put it in 2wd and if it has the kit in the transfer case I will be able to turn the front output shaft by hand? I'm assuming that the fulltime aspect of the transfer case would keep the front shaft from turning by hand unless it has been converted.
