    Kinda a stupid question but I am unfamiliar with the 203 part time kit. After you change it out do you loose the ability to drive on pavement in 4wd? What gear is lost (lock, 4H?) to get 2H?

    Yes. After converting it with the part time kit, you no longer have the Lo and Hi positions (they both become 2wd I think) which were the only 4wd you could use on pavement. You just end up with a 2wd vehicle for pavement.

    Before the part time its from top to bottom;
    LowLoc
    Low
    Nuetral
    High
    HighLoc

    After the part time kit its;
    4low
    2low
    Nuetral
    2hi
    4hi

    Hope this helps...

    just remember if you put the kit in to put it in 4H once a week at least to keep the front gears and bearings oiled. leave the front hubs unlocked when doing this.
