    ok, i have 3 NP205's
    all are diferent.
one is a 10 spline input with a u join yolk at the rear output.
one is a th400 long 32 spline input with a slip yolk as the output.
the other is a for, unknow slpine count u joint output.

the th400 version needs the case taped out for the doubler addaptor. that i can do. can i put the ford input into the th400 version and then use the 10 spline version parts as a SYE kit?

yeah i think your right the ford is 31 spline . what i did was bought a th400 input gear <short> $160 or so from ORD and it fits perfectly in the ford 205 that i am going to use . so it look like you need a short th400 input huh ?

yeah, but if i can save 160 dollars then i can put 160 dollars into something else.

i would think that they could come up with something just by mixing parts, hopefully steve sees these soon so i can find out and start on the prodject.

ok, good news. no need for any machine work. i can use the round style case that has the long input with the ford input in it. then they just ship me a ford conector shaft and a chevy adaptor. problem solved. now i have to put the SM465 model transfercase back together and tear the other two appart...
    oh well.
thanks a lot andy, and i still would like that harness. im just not sure if this weekend is going to be good.
    ill keep you updated.

Just to clarify what this is about:
He had a round pattern NP205 with the long 32 spline input gear from a '85-'91 1-ton with a TH400 or SM465. To use this case with a Doubler kit, you need to swap in the short 32 spline input gear. It's a direct bolt it, the case has the correct size input hole already. We build an adapter to bolt directly to the round pattern NP205 bolt face with no other mods required.

And it's not a big deal to send a kit with a 31 spline shaft instead of a 32 spline. It's a little odd but no reason it wouldn't work.

You can't shorten the long 32 spline input gear or you'll cut off all the splines, so that technique won't work.
