What is involved in changing the rear output yoke on a 205 case from 1/2 ton to 1 ton. I would think it would be a just swapping yokes but are the bearings and seals different sizes? It is a 205 case from a 72 jimmy with a sm465. I need a new drive shaft so I was thinking about changing the yoke to match the rear 14 bolt. Thanks

I did the same thing. You need to get a thin-walled socket because an impact socket wont fit in the yoke. It's a direct swap, try not to get too much 90 wt all over yourself when you pull the old yoke off like I did.

How can you tell what u-joints a yoke will accept?

1970 GMC Jimmy 502HO/SM465/NP205 doesn't run just yet!
