    -having troubles with my 208 in my 86 k10 with an sm465, pops out of 4hi when i hammer on it always and sometimes when im easing it... it stays in 4lo, any ideas? i know the tcase bracket is bent nasty....previous owner did a number on it....

    try and get a new bracket? Mine did this once when I was climbing a snowpile at like a 45+ degree angle and hammering on it. Scary cause it made the front end jump!

    Mine does the same thing. Its in the adjustment on the linkage most likely. I only use low range anyhow so I havent messed w/ playing w/ it.

    IMO, mounting the shifter to the body and having to go to the case by way of a solid linkage is a bad idea. When the motor torques over it pulls on the link, which in turn tries to pull it out of gear.
