208 rear bushing

    has anyone ever replace the bushing in the rear tailshaft of a 208 T/C. i think mine is blown out and i need to replace it.and i'm not sure how to do this. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

    yeah, took mine apart this past summer and changed the bushing, seal and the bearings in the tailshaft. Not hard at all. It was first time in a transfer case, and I found it very easy. I took the tailshaft of, pulled the seal out, got the bearings out and used a piece of pipe to know the bushing out.

    I do recommend using GM part # 1052942 (Gasket Maker) when re-installing the tail shaft. It's a non-aerobic sealant (needs no air), and the guy at the GM parts counter recommended it. I haven't had any leaks since.
