241 vs. 208.....who wins?

    IMO, I would say that they are both pretty equal.

    241 is stronger because it uses 6 planets in the planetary unit and the 208 uses 4 planets.

    Easy 241

    2.72:1 low range (208 is 2.61:1); as in post above, 241 has a stronger 6 pinion carrier (208 has 4 pinion carrier) and 241 is supposed to have better oiling system.

    241's you can also buy a SYE kit but not for the 208.

    Is the 241 a direct bolt-in to a 700 that came mated to a 208?

    Yes, a 241 will bolt directly in where a 208 was.

    Some guy's have made there own SYE kit for the 208. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

    Just make sure you get the 241 with the same speedo drive as your 208. Some 241's come with mechanical cable drives and others come with electric sending units.
