I was going through a ACME truck parts ( www.acmetruckparts.com ) catolog earlier and noticed a over head console with left/right speakers on both sides (4 speakers total) It's called a "Highliner Custom Headliner". Might be a decent set up. I would replace the speakers with something better, and still have the subs in the back, but for the K5's that only had the single speaker in the center of the dash, this might be a good choice. Priced at $199.95 I'll have to consitter it. Anyone seen these ??? how would you rate it ??? You can go to the site I posted the link for, enter 74300.301 in the shop with your catolog search, then click on show photo to see what I'm talking about. http://www.acmetruckparts.com/photos/P23004.JPG

Iv'e got that exact headliner,But it's not installed yet! Pretty beefy headliner(ABS Plastic) you have to cut out the stereo hole to fit your needs. I think its ok!

What's everyone think of this set up ???? I'm starting to really like the idea. I don't hardly ever have a back seat passenger, so don't need speakers back there. With this set up, could use the fader as a volume controle if the passenger doesn't like it as loud, or wants it louder. It's nice that the speakers are up high, and no problem getting a stereo effect. Being that close to your ears, I don't think you'd need an amp for them as long as you have a good headunit. I do want to replace those speakers with some Infinity Kappas.

I have one, not using the speakers in it cuz I use the speakers in my sidepanels. My dad put it in a while ago because he was tired of the headliner sagging. It's not cut out or anything. I was thinking of putting a CB in it or maybe selling it. It kind of grew on me so i'm not sure. Everyone complements it though lol.

Here's a bad pic of it, [IMG]

That looks pretty good. My old 76 Blazer doesn't have a headliner, it's got the metal roof. How hard is it to install ??? From the looks of yours, I think I want one more now.

I didn't install it, but it looks like it just replaces the headliner and is held in by the trim pieces around the top of the cab.

I'd like to see more pics also. I like your idea of gauges in the panel above the visor. I was thinking storage, but gauges would look cool there.
