Thought I'd post this here for input from those not in the 88 and up forum often:

It turns out the pinion bearing on my 94 2wd 1/2 ton is going (gone) and I need to replace it. Rather than have a new gearset installed (don't know how long I'm gonna keep the truck) I was thinking of swapping one of the plentiful 10 bolts available into it. SO my question is - what have I got in a 94 GMC 1500 SLE 2wd? Obviously I have 5 bolt rims, but can I swap my shafts into a 4wd housing? Are the spline counts the same? What do I need to look for? (And if anyone has a 2wd 10 bolt with 3.73's that's a direct swap, please let me know)
