Hello all I'm in the process of swaping engines in my sub. While engine is out it was talked about putting a 4wd frontend and transfer case in it. Has anyone here pulled off the swap? I have the crossmember for the engine mount and spring hagers. Is there any difference in the motor mount that bolts to the block between 2wd and 4wd? thanks

IIRC, 4wd has the crossmember forward, underneath the balancer, and two "stub" crossmembers that the motor mounts bolt to.

2wd has a large crossmember directly under the oil pan, I'm assuming to stiffen up the independent front end.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

I believe mj is making it sounds a little easier than it is. You will have to get the right tranny output shaft to bolt up to the transfer case. There's some more stuff I don't remember.
