    3.08\'s to 3.73\'s

this question is for a '84 Rear 10bolt
If I wanted to change from 3.08's to 3.73's what all would I need to change besides the Ring&Pinion?

all of the bearings. they use the same carrier, so no need to worry about it. word of advice though. if you have a Gov-loc, replace it with an open carrier or some aftermarket one

3.73 geared 10-bolt axles are VERY common. It's cheaper to swap the entire axle out than to buy the gears and bearings to re-gear one. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif If you're going to have a shop install the gears, then it's WAY cheaper to just swap the whole axle out. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree, swap out your axles. I personally would upgrade to atleast 3/4 Ton axles with the gears you want,( 373 and 410 are comman in 3/4 Ton axles ) but thats just me.

Too bad you're so far away. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I've got a 3.73 rear end out of a '90 Sub sitting in my garage.

Surely someone in Florida has one that they don't need!

[/ QUOTE ] Just got rid of my spare 14 a few months ago. Had 4.56 gears too. Dont live too far from him either. Red Dwarf MAY have one in G-ville, Ill check to see what he has next time I talk to him.
