    Re: 3/4 swap 1/2 done

I got my U-bolt's from ORD..
Took less than 1 day for them to arrive.. [IMG]
Now I'm waiting on my LMC part's.. and the rest of my wheel's before I begin..
But the axles and two wheel's are all painted up.. Nice Semi Gloss black.. No grinding need's to be done on my front rotor's.. wooo hoooo..
I'm in no hurry now.. Just want all my parts to arrive.

    I bought rim's with 4.5 inch backspacing.
Tech 1's... Great quality rim's.. I scuffed them up already.. and painted them Black.. They look purty on those axles..

I just painted my wheels and axles too! I'm still waiting on my Ubolts. I just need to mount my tires and I should be ready to start swaping this weekend. I guess August is axle swap season!

Ahhhhh, if you got 4.5 inch backspacing your gonna be grinding a butt load of material off the calipers and backing plates. As far as the Tech1's. Thats what on my jimmy in those pics on my website. The have been good hweels to me. I like the Bart wheels alot better. If you'll notice on the backside of those Tech1's you'll see 4 welded beads about 4 inches long that hold the wheel together. My barts got one long a$$ bead all the way around. It may not make it that much stronger but it sure does something for the piece of mind factor.
    ROCKO, happy grinding fella!!![IMG]

    Brandon..
What are you going to do with your rear brake lines with the 14 bolt? Will the old 10 bolt brake line's mount up to the 14 bolt backing plates?
    Just thought of that ...

    Re: 3/4 swap 1/2 done

If your talking "aboot" the hard lines, yes they old ones will bolt right up. and the ones that were on my 14 got hacked off at the 3/8 flare fitting where is screws into the backside of the cylinder cause I couldnt' get the SOB's to turn at all. Even with PB Blaster, vise grips, flare wrench. It was not going to turn so I hacked it off and got new cylinders.

I'm hoping my U-bolts will be there this afternoon. Im also gonna have to have some shims made to re-angle the rear till I can get the perches rotated for the angle I need to run the CV shaft. Looking like Im gonna need a 10 degree shim. MAN that sounds like alot dont it? [IMG]

Man, I hate that "waiting period". It seems like an eternity when you have to wait for bada$$ new parts...

    Re: 3/4 swap 1/2 done

    I hear ya big tex..
Now after putting everything back together.. I need bigger u-joint straps.. Damn.. it's alway's something..
Got the axle all bolted up, New rear extended brake line put on, Hooked up the ebrake cables, Tightened all the brake lines.. And last but not least.. put my new rim's with my 35's mounted on the rear.. now the rear sit's 2 inches higher than before.. [IMG].
Look's like it's time for the extended front shackles and zero rate springs' for the front..
