i just puchased a 14 bolt out of a 78 3/4 ton van and discovered i have 3:73 gears......question-------i really don't have the extra cash to change out the 14 and 10 bolts to 4:10's like i want, so would i be happy for awhile ( till next ear) if i changed the 10 bolt to 3:73's i'll be going to Uwharrie and Tellico this fall and i love to drive my K5 to work and around town. i'm currently running 35's with a th350 and 3:08's.
i just wanna have fun with the money i have available to me now...........seeing as how my better half doesn't now what i want or cares what i want when it comes to her competition!!!!!!!!! the yard sore K5

youll be fine...i ran 35's w/ 373's and now i have been driving around on 38.5's w/410's. just swap our your front and drive it till you get the cash for the ones you want. to tell you the truth, i would even look in to getting used gears for the front, and possibly installing them yourself. the front wont see the constant high speeds and use like the rear does, so they will probably hold up.

are you going to the dixie run in oct???
i have been meaning to get to uwharrie (sp?) but been to busy!!

3.73's are great - particularly if you're coming up from 3.08's.
