    3.73\'s in a 14 Bolt?

I pulled the cover on my new 14 bolt today to see what I have. Counted 41 teeth on the ring gear and the GM# is 11 41. By my math that shold be 3.73's right? Isnt that kinda steep for a 14bolt? Maybe I dont get out much but I have never seen a 14 from GM with anythign other than 4.11 or 4.56. If so I must be blessed (or cursed) every axle I buy has high gears in it!

A lot of them came with 3.73s. Most of them came with 3.73s or 4.10s.

    Yep, that calculation is correct.

I have one 14FF with the 3.73 ratio sitting outside by the garage.

Wanna buy another one? [IMG] [IMG]

3/4 tons default gear was 3.73. The 4.10 was the option gear. Most 1 tons got the 4.10 and the 4.56 was the option. The axle is the same other than the gear and the spring mount width.
Now you want to talk weird he's one for you. 77 2wd blazer with a stick shift with 4.10. Never would have figure that ws an option. I figured the option would be the 3.73 standard gear would have been 3.08. I bet that pulled like all heck with the 6.7 first gear and a 225 70 r 15 that was probably stock.

It's not my damn planet monkey boy!
