3/8 and 1/2 temp adapter fittings

    or, ive seen these in the summit and jeg catalogs and they are obviously to adapt temp senders but what do they adapt? in other words does the 3/8" one hold a 1/2" sender and vice-versa?

    The adapters take the 1/2" sending unit on most autometer temp guages, and reduces it to the 3/8" thread that is in your block for the sensor to fit in. SO it reduces it to 3/8" thread.
