    Last night was the 3rd time in as many days I've taken my steering column apart to tighten it up....Still lose and I'm done worrying about it. The next time it comes out, I'm gonna shoot it! I guess I just need a new steering column! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

    yeah my dad tried a few years ago and gave up and put it in a shop, now it's loose again so i'm not even gonna bother. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

    You must be talking about the 4 little bolts buried in the bowels of He!! of the column. The ones in our 79 cames loose and I tightened them once, they stayed good, I used blue locktite though.

    Send BigBurb a pm and ask for some tips. I'm pretty sure it was Harvey that won the battle against the loose tilt column and had some good tips on how to do it.

    He did a awsome write up thats pretty easy to understand...I think I had parts melt though or something...it doesn't matter, I give up. Ill start hitting junk yards at some point and deal with it then. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    take them off and just drench the he!! out of the studs with blue or red loktite and tighten the bolts and it should take car of them
