305 and 350 Flywheel

    Is the 305 flywheel the same as a 350.

    They are interchangeable, as long as both are for the same rear seal type crankshaft.

    Yes. Only the 400 is different, and the 454 is different again. All the same diameter, but different balance.

    Watch out for a smaller 153 tooth version (trucks are 168 tooth). They were used mainly in cars, and require a different starter. It will also work on a 305/350 or any other small or big vlock engine besides a 400 or 454.

    Remember, the new 1pc rear seal motors have a different bolt pattern than the older ones. I think it was all 86 & newer engines have 1pc seals. As long as the 2 engines fall within the same year split (both 1pc or 2pc version)you will be OK. Hope this helps.
