I got a chance to buy a set of 305 vortec heads and need to know if they would be a good setup on my 350 tbi. I know about the intake bolt differences, but can't find any info on valve sizes or combustion chamber volume. The casting # is 14101081. I could not find that # in my 2000 hipo chevy catalog. I found a #14101083 listed as a 350 285 hp. head. Any ideas? If this would be a lame setup, please let me know. Like everybody, money is tight and I don't have any to waste. (The current setup is 350 tbi,700r4,jacobs coil & wires, hooker catback,3.73gears,33"tires.)

That may be a very good idea, just may net you more horses than low end. Used to be very popular to run 305 heads on a 350 for more compression. Just be warned that by only adding good heads, intake, and carb, you're very likely to blow out your stock bottom end. I was planning on 350 vortec heads myself down the line somewhere, but this might be even better? Engine gurus????
