    OK guys this quesiton is more out of curiosity then anything else... the new engines in the newest lines of trucks are 5.3's so I'm assuming these are a 305 engine...

    well the numbers they are getting out of these things are pretty impressive for a 305. I'm curious if these are using a vortec head that is built for a 305, and if the intakes for vortec heads will work with these heads?

    Yes these new ones are pretty impressive with lots of pwr and i belive they are vortech.
    My friend has a 350 vortech in his 95 and he can do MAD burnouts in reverse too without pwr braking just hammering it. His dad has a 00 Z71 with the 5.3 vortech with true duals and kn intake system and man that thing has some pwr !

    5.0=305-5.7=350-7.0=427-7.4=454
    How does 5.3 make 523 inches...
    The vortec as we know it applies to 4.3,5.0,5.7,7.4.
    the new motors are all new design... All new concept... Not the same...
