Did 88+ 1 tons have 241s? I want to replace my 208 with a 241 so I can put an SYE kit on it but I have no idea where to locate one that will bolt up to my SM465. What rigs would have passenger side drop 241 with 32 spline input?

    The only ones I can think of would be '88 - '91 3/4 ton Suburbans with a TH400 or a 4L80e.

I was afraid of that, means my prey will be quite scarce.

Good luck... when I went looking for a replacement 400 version 241... I couldn't find one for less than $500. I ended up buying a 700/241, and replacing the input. I think you could prolly buy the input from the dealer, and drop it into a 700 version 241.... just a thought! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

thats what I was thinking, would the input from my 208 go in the 241? If not I will start looking into new inputs.

The input is dead simple to swap. Find any 241 that was behind the Getrag 5 speed in the IFS trucks (1/2 ton 4x4)and swap in the input.

There are thousands and thousands of those 5 speed IFS trucks out there and by now there are more than enough in the wrecking yards.

Worst case scenario you could buy the input gear from (gulp) GM.
